Virtual therapy, anywhere in Vermont

Quality mental-health care can be hard to find in a rural state - and waitlists are long. Virtual sessions bring a licensed counselor to you, from Burlington to the smallest town in the Kingdom.

Care for the whole Green Mountain State

Vermont is not one place, and the right therapist is rarely the closest one. Sessions reach Chittenden County around Burlington, the Champlain Valley, central Vermont around Montpelier and Barre, the Northeast Kingdom, Rutland and the southwest, and the Windham County towns down by Brattleboro.

Clients join from Burlington, South Burlington, Rutland, Essex Junction, Colchester, Barre, Montpelier, Winooski, St. Albans, Brattleboro and Bennington, and from the towns in between. Because everything happens over secure video, availability is exactly the same wherever in the state you are: the deciding factor becomes fit rather than distance.

Scheduling

When we can meet

Because Vermont keeps Eastern time, every slot you see is already in your own clock. Nothing to convert.

In your local time, appointments run weekdays, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, plus every other Saturday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Sessions start on the hour, need at least 24 hours' notice, and can be booked up to four weeks ahead.

Worth knowing

A small state where distance is still the problem

Vermont looks compact on a map and does not behave that way in February. Outside Chittenden County, the nearest therapist who works with your particular concern can be an hour or more away over roads that are genuinely difficult for a third of the year. Waiting lists do the rest.

The result is a familiar compromise: people take whoever is available rather than whoever fits, or they put it off. Video sessions take the mountain roads out of the decision entirely. From the Northeast Kingdom, from Bennington, from a farm outside St. Johnsbury, availability is identical to downtown Burlington.

One border note, because Vermonters cross state lines constantly. Sessions have to happen while you are physically in a state where I hold a license. Vermont and New York both qualify, so if you live in Vermont and work in Plattsburgh you are covered either way. New Hampshire and Massachusetts do not, so a session from Lebanon or Greenfield is not something I can do.

Common questions

Are you licensed to see clients in Vermont?
Yes. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in Vermont, one of eleven states where I hold a license, so we can meet legally and ethically wherever in the state you are.
I live in a small town - is online therapy really private?
Yes - often more private than in-person care in a small community, where the parking lot outside a therapy office is its own disclosure. Sessions happen on an encrypted, HIPAA-compliant platform, and nothing is shared without your written consent.
I live in a rural part of Vermont. Does that limit my options?
Not for these sessions. Because everything happens over secure video, availability from the Northeast Kingdom or Bennington County is identical to Burlington. You need privacy, a device with a camera, and a connection steady enough to hold a call. If video drops, we can continue by phone.
I live in Vermont but work in New Hampshire. Can I take a session from work?
Not from New Hampshire, because I am not licensed there. A therapy license follows where you are physically sitting during the session. Vermont and New York both work, so a Vermonter commuting to Plattsburgh is covered either way, but sessions from New Hampshire or Massachusetts are not possible.
Is virtual therapy as effective as in-person?
For most concerns, yes. Research consistently finds telehealth therapy comparable to in-person care. Sessions happen over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform: all you need is privacy, a device with a camera, and an internet connection.
